It seems that somebody abused the email address info @ ham-blog.de for sending spam. I am receiving several “please confirm your email” replies today.

The emails look pretty much like the mails which are send by the Subscribe to Comments Plugin. This plugin has been updated so that no more problems should occur.

If you are affected by this spam: Can you send the complete email (including all headers) to the above mentioned address? This will help to further investigate the problem. Thanks!

Update: The above mentioned plugin is not responsible for the spam. The responsible file has been identified and been deactivated. The problematic files (located in /blog/maillinglist/) are part of the Wordpress Email Notification Plugin. So if you are running this plugin, consider an update as it can be abused for sending spam. This plugin is not to be confused with the Subscribe to Comments Plugin.
