PayPal Phishing = Identity Phishing?

Yesterday I received an interesting phishing email.

Limited Access PayPal

It seems that the phishers used an original PayPal email (images were loaded from PayPal.com) and just replaced the “Resolution Center” link with a link to their phishing site. When you click on this link you will be redirected to a swiss domain with a classical PayPal login screen. After entering your (hopefully fake  ) user data, you proceed to a form asking to “Confirm Billing and Credit Card Information“.

PayPal Phising 1
Note the fake internet explorer address bar – realized via HTML

This form has two “interesting” fields:

  • ATM pin number
  • Social Security Number

PayPal Phising 3

PayPal Phising 2

What does this tell us? IMHO pure identity theft! So be careful!
