FindU.com – APRS Tracking on the Internet

Although FindU.com is a pretty old site, I still like it. It enables you (beside checking local weather reports and other nifty things) to track amateur radio station, which submit APRS data, via internet. Check out this position report as an example.

Although nothing really new has been posted in the news section, the site is enhanced every once in a while with new features. The latest major change has been the usage of the Google Maps API to enhance the map display.

    Hi, hope your well.

Another APRS site we’ve been using in the south east of England is:

    http://aprs.he.fi/

It also makes use of Google Maps allowing you to track mobile stations, show historical plots, read recent messages and export a KMI file to Google Earth. Well worth a look. Its WX station features arn’t as good as FindU’s, but it is very good for tracking.

Thanks for the link. Will check it out tomorrow.

KMI export sounds very “tempting” :)
