I have just added the Subscribe to Comments plugin to this blog.

Readers can now subscribe to threads and receive updates once a new comment is posted. Subscriptions can be turned off via a subscribtion-manager.

No emails will be send automatically. You have to activate the checkbox “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail”.
