More on Trackback Spam

As I get about 10-15 trackback spam each night and it really sucks (yes, it does  ) to deleted all those junk comments, I have installed Spam-Karma which is an automated system to protect the blog from automated spam produced by those !#?”*$! spambots :) .

Let’s see how it works, but it looks pretty good.

I’ve been a bit luckier on the comment spam. So far. I get 5-10 spam comments a week but have not resorted to using any tools to block them. Will be interested in hearing how this works for you so keep us posted.

Spam Karma seems to work fine, although I think there exist a conflict with wp-gatekeeper. But as Spam-Karma automatically deletes all the crap comments wp-gatekeeper is no longer necessary.

I just got tired of deleting the spam comments manually and therefore looked for an automatic solution. Spam Karma uses a really sophisticated approach to minimalize false positives (e.g. real comments classified as spam) so that I am pretty confident that I will keep it.

Will keep you posted about how it works.
