The Ham Radio Soap continues …
The “Ham Radio Soap” continues … This time with a slightly different topic/touch, but the actors remain more or less the same. The dx-list archive offers loads of interesting and – let’s put it that way – controversial material
.
Enjoy!
Addition: Some stuff is not specific to this trip/dxpedition/group (put whatever word you like which describes the situation). Especially the “you did the greatest job on earth” from those who worked them and the “worst dxpedition on earth”, “they never worked EU/JA/NA/OC”, “I want my 160m PSK31 QSO” etc. from those who did not work them… As everywhere in life it is a very subjective issue …
One thing is interesting: Critics (constructive of course! – no whining) isn’t expressed very often by those who worked the DXpedition – probably because people fear to be “blacklisted” and not to get their valuable (?) qsl card.
Anyway… DX is and will hopefully continue to live … A little hard to believe if you look at the behaviour of the pile ups and the amount of deliberate QRM when the really rare stuff gets on the air
. IMHO this has gotten worse in the last 2 or 3 years. Might be related to the fact that at the bottom of the solar cycle there isn’t much “good stuff” on the air and once something is on people get nuts
. Once again I suggest reading this excellent article about operating pratice by ON4WW.
