Firefox 2 released

Firefox 2 has been officially released and is available for download. (it was available on October 23rd on some mozilla FTP servers but without official release notes).

First impression: Rendering engine is a litte faster, JS popups open significantly faster and the default theme received a facelift, RSS feed preview (cool feature :thumpup:) Additionally it contains a phising protecion which I haven’t tested so far. All other additional features can be found here.

IMHO this is a nice update which should give the Firefox browser another boost.

Downside: Still a lot of (no so important) extension won’t work as they are marked as incompatible. Therefore I will wait a little bit before converting 100% to the new version. Essential extension (e.g. Adblock, RefControl. NoScript, Flashblock) are already working.

Ich hab mir den neuen FF 2 auch schon installiert. Das einzige, was mich aufgeregt hat, sidn die Tabs. Wenn man mehr als 15 auf hat, verschwinden äältere und man muss rechts klicken, um nach links/rechts zu scrollen.
Das kann man aber mit Tab Mix Plus ändern. Ansonsten :firefox:

Das ist in der Tat ungünstig, aber wenn man es mit TabMixPlus fixen kann, geht es ja.

Fahre allerdings hauptsächlich immer noch mit der 1.5.8, da immer noch nicht alle Extension portiert worden sind. Aber bis April 2007 hat man ja noch Zeit
