PCSat2 successfully installed
STS-114 also brought some good stuff to the ham radio community.
PCSat2, an external ISS experiment in the Amateur Satellite Service, has been successfully installed on ISS. The satellite contains an APRS system, a FM repeater and a 10m PSK31 transpoder.
So far no user transmissions are allowed as ground control has to get information about battery and temperature status.
Telemetry data (9600 baud) is being transmitted right now on 439.975 MHz in three minute intervals. Please send your telemetry data captures to PC2@grc.nasa.gov.
I think a 10m PSK31 transponder is an interesting application. As RS12/13 and RS15 are more or less qrt, this might be a welcome change.
