Adblock Filter list
A very nice extension for Mozilla Firefox is Adblock. It helps you to get rid of those “eye-cancer” producing ads which are very common “individuals” on the internet.
Unfortunately it does not come with a pre-defined filter list. Doing a google search for “adblock filter list” returns a geocities address which is unfortunately no longer valid. The new Adblock Filter List sits at Piercieve.com.
The Adblock filter list is updated regulary, so that you can keep up to date with new “inventions” of the ad industry.
IMHO ads are fine and necessary as they keep many offers on the internet free. But a lot of pages (check out GMX.DE[/Url]) realy overdo it. On the other hand Google =/out.php?url=http://adsense.google.comAdsense is unobstructive and does not steal your bandwidth. More of that please!
The newest trick are flash ads using CSS layers so that usual pop-up blockers don’t work anymore… really nasty …
