This is the equipment used on Mallorca. Nothing very special but it works out ok. Even though the dipole is not very high above ground I frequently work JA via longpath on 15m in the morning.
During my next trip I am going to play around with some vertical dipoles for the upper HF bands. According to antenna modeling they seem to perform very well compared to a low dipole.
Despite the fact that some people classify MFJ as “Mighty Fine Junk”, I never had any problems with this tuner – even at higher power levels.
If you need EA6 on a certain band or mode, please feel free to send me an email. Unfortunately I can’t work 160m. 80m is possible but performance is lousy
